The 2026 D.I.V.E. Forum, short for Discover Intelligence Via Engineering, is a comprehensive robotics forum jointly held with the 2026 MATE International Underwater Robotics Competition China Regional Event and hosted by the School of Automation and Intelligent Sensing at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is designed for young students, university participants, and researchers, and aims to build an integrated platform for learning, communication, exhibition, and practice.
The forum focuses on science communication, technical exchange, engineering practice, and competition demonstration across a broad range of robotic fields, from software to hardware and from ocean systems to aerial and general-purpose robotics. D.I.V.E. refers not only to the core action of underwater robotics, but also to a deeper exploration of intelligence through engineering practice. The event will adopt a comprehensive format of exhibition, interaction, competition, and talks, together with online livestreaming through new media platforms.
The forum will be held together with the 2026 MATE China Regional Event. MATE is one of the most influential international competitions in underwater robotics, and outstanding teams from the China regional event will have the opportunity to advance to the world championship. The forum will also collaborate with the 2026 WBCD Bimanual Robotics Challenge, which focuses on bimanual robotic manipulation and learning in real-world tasks. Real robotic platforms will be presented on site to support technical exchange, system debugging, and live demonstrations.

The 2026 D.I.V.E. Forum is jointly supported by faculty organizers and student organizers from multiple research and engineering communities.
